Emerging from a wide-ranging career at the top levels of asset and wealth management, Martin Andrew founded Gallatin as a vehicle to bring an abundance of real world insight and extensive experience to expedite the success of his clients.
Martin’s international career encompasses strategy formulation and execution, performance improvement, acquisitions and disposals and leading regulated end-to-end businesses through transformational change.
He began his career as an investment manager. After three years he left to take an MBA at Harvard Business School and subsequently joined McKinsey in London specialising in asset management, insurance and banking. He then joined Mercury Asset Management where he managed a variety of strategic projects in the UK and internationally.
Following the acquisition of Mercury by Merrill Lynch, Martin moved to the US and launched a new retail asset management business leveraging Mercury investment capability into the US retail market. After returning to the UK to lead the European private client business for Merrill Lynch Investment Managers, Martin joined Close Brothers and became CEO of the asset management division where he spent fourteen years building and growing a leading, vertically-integrated wealth management business spanning financial planning, investment management and platform through a combination of organic growth and acquisitions.
Martin founded Gallatin to provide the independent strategic advice, insight and real world experience which is so crucial in empowering business leaders and strategic sector investors to advance their businesses.
